Google announced this week that it has completed changes to the serp algorithm to reflect local searches. Google now guesses where a searcher is located by their ip address and if they search for something like “dentists” or “restaurants” then relevant local sites will be included in the results.
If you can get a page on your site rated high for a particular location, this will bring in more traffic.
